Daniel Rourke has lived as Manhattan architect David Strand for six years, his CIA past buried under blueprints. When his handler Martin Lees dies in the locked private park below his window, an extraction operative arrives with perfect credentials. As Rourke discovers the method used to kill Lees points to her division, his neighbor is killed as collateral. A climactic confrontation in Gramercy Park reveals Lees already submitted the damning documentation to the Senate six months ago, making every subsequent operation evidence of a cover-up. Rourke boards a train to Chicago with no cover story and his own name written down for the first time in years.
