Refund Policy

Overview

ScriptLix sells digital products: screenplays available under different license tiers. Because of the nature of digital content, refund eligibility depends on the license tier you purchased and the level of access you have used.

This policy applies to all purchases made through the ScriptLix platform. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree to the refund terms described below.

EU Digital Content Directive

If you are located in the European Union, you have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal for digital content purchases under Directive 2011/83/EU. However, by clicking "Buy Now" or "Checkout" and accessing digital content, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been accessed or downloaded.

This consent is obtained at the point of purchase. If you have not accessed or downloaded the content, your full 14-day withdrawal right remains intact.

Reader Access Refunds

If you purchased Reader Access to a screenplay, you are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have read less than 25% of the script. Reading progress is tracked automatically by the platform.

Once you have read more than 25% of the screenplay, the content is considered consumed and is no longer eligible for a refund.

Production License Refunds

Production License purchases are eligible for a full refund within 14 days, as long as the PDF version of the screenplay has not been downloaded.

Once the PDF has been downloaded, the product is considered delivered and the purchase is non-refundable. The download grants you a permanent copy which cannot be revoked.

Exclusive Rights Refunds

Exclusive Rights purchases are non-refundable once the ownership transfer process has been initiated. This includes any communication or legal steps taken to begin transferring rights from the original author to you.

If the transfer has not been initiated within 48 hours of purchase, contact us at [email protected] to discuss your options.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at [email protected] with your order number (found in your purchase confirmation email) and a brief explanation of your reason for the request.

Our team will respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days and returned to the original payment method used at checkout.

Exceptions and Special Circumstances

We handle refund requests on a case-by-case basis for situations involving: technical issues that prevented access to the purchased content, accidental duplicate purchases, billing errors, or content that was materially misrepresented on the platform.

If your situation falls outside the standard policy, reach out to us and we will do our best to find a fair resolution.

Promotional and Discounted Purchases

Purchases made with promotional codes or discounts are subject to the same refund terms as full-price purchases. However, refund amounts will reflect the actual amount paid, not the original listed price.

Free promotional items or complimentary access are not eligible for refunds.

Chargebacks

If you are considering a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, we strongly encourage you to contact us first at [email protected]. We are committed to resolving disputes quickly and fairly, and can typically resolve issues faster than the formal chargeback process.

Filing a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with ScriptLix may result in account suspension pending investigation. Fraudulent chargebacks (where the service was delivered as described) may result in permanent account termination and collection action for the disputed amount.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are located in the European Union, you are protected under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the Digital Content Directive. If you are in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. If you are in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law applies.

Where local consumer protection law provides greater rights than this policy, local law prevails. ScriptLix will comply with mandatory consumer protection requirements of your jurisdiction.
