Where ScriptLix wins and where it does not
Wins: the deep report scores are calculated by code, so the same file gets the same numbers, and every note must cite a real page or scene.
Wins: the quick read is free with no account and takes about twenty seconds.
Loses: per script, ScriptReader.ai, RoastMyScript and StoryNotes cost less than our $29 deep report.
The human platforms that closed
WeScreenplay, ScreenCraft and The Script Lab closed in early 2025. Coverfly shut down on August 1, 2025.
Human coverage still exists: Coverage Ink starts at $129 and Script Reader Pro runs $185 to $449.
Questions writers ask
- What is the cheapest AI script coverage?
- Several tools have a free tier: ScriptLix (quick read), ScriptReader.ai (first 3 scenes), StoryNotes (first two stages), The PreList and OnDesk. For a full paid report, RoastMyScript starts at $9 and ScriptReader.ai at $9.99.
- Is AI coverage as good as a human reader?
- ScriptReader.ai and The PreList both say AI does not replace a human reader, and we agree. Use AI on every draft and pay a person when the script is close.
- What happened to WeScreenplay, ScreenCraft and Coverfly?
- All three closed in 2025. WeScreenplay and ScreenCraft closed in early 2025, and Coverfly shut down on August 1, 2025.
