THE VIENNA DECEPTION: Action Screenplay

Katrin Vogt is the BND's most methodical interrogator, which is exactly why Colonel Arkady Morozov chose her. His warning is real. The strike on the European gas grid is coming. What Katrin does not yet understand is that the attack is supposed to fail in a way that exposes a secondary network the Russians actually want burned. Morozov's defection is not a rescue. It is a deniable reorganization of the entire European counterintelligence map, and Katrin is the architect of it without knowing she is holding the pen.

A Russian colonel defects in Vienna and warns of an imminent attack on European infrastructure. His intelligence checks out. The German analyst debriefing him is about to realize the defection is the attack.
